*Description/Job Summary*
SUMMARY
The Maintenance Mechanic I will be responsible for general building and grounds maintenance as well as performing both predictive and preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment. As a Mechanic I, he/she may have independence on some duties while close supervision on others. He/She will work in a learning capacity performing a range of maintenance/mechanic duties.
Maintenance Mechanics are also involved in routine tasks, such as lubrication of machinery, seal replacement, cleaning of parts during repair, adjusting valves and seals, investigating breakdowns, removing and replacing motors, starters, relays, limit switches, fuses, primary control components. Must be able to read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures. Must be able to safety and correctly use hand and power tools.
