The ISP Technician may also assist in performing regular Site Maintenance. The candidate should also have knowledge and experience installing and working with; DC power systems, DC battery plants, DC/AC Inverters, telemetry systems, new cabinet and hut installs and all forms of Ironwork and equipment installation. Responsibilities To Include But Not Limited To:Install hardware, i.e., racks, bays, mount equipment in racks.Install, test and commission small DC Power plants (200A 1500A)Run Power Cable and terminate to fuse panels and fuse baysCross connection of DS-3, DS-1 and DS-0 circuitsComplete assigned Metasolv tasks for new work ordersAct as eyes and hands during troubleshooting for the NOCPerform, document and inspect quarterly hut preventive maintenance procedures for:HVACGeneratorDC Battery and Rectifier PlantOther Facilities network assets as deployedMonthly inspection and generation of environmental alarms back to the NOCRun, lace, terminate and dress network and power cableAbility to read technical work order and project drawingsRead and understand manufacturer installation documentationAbility to work with little to no supervision.Work with live AC/DC power equipment.Ability to use serial connection to configure equipment.Ability to set up TCP/IP connection to laptop to configure equipmentRun ABAM cable and wire wrap to DSX1Ensure proper system operation including the quality testing, reliability and productive uses of off-air towers, satellite earth station and all head-end and hub site equipment as neededFollow company policies and procedures for troubleshooting and testing, routine and periodic maintenance of off-air towers, satellite earth station and all head-end and hub site equipment as needed.Interface with third party co-location space, providers and vendors. What You Need For This Position:High School diploma, Technical school or some college desirable.3-5 years of experience working as an installer/technician for a Telecommunications or Cable Television company.Valid driver's license required and a good driving record SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/PERSONAL QUALITIES:Superior interpersonal skills, ability to work well with others.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Understanding and use of basic computer programs (Excel, Word, email, etc.)Detail oriented organizational skills.Strong troublesho oting skills.Analytical problem-solving skills.Adaptability, flexibility, and creativity.Mature professional attitude.Must be able to prioritize work task and maintain high standards.Must be able to travel extensively Working Conditions:field operations environment, cable routes, huts and customer collocation sites.Outside work as deemed appropriate/as needed in support of the network.Willingness to work extended hours or evenings, weekends, holiday's, and extended hours as required by workloadMust be able and willing to work in inclement weather conditionsMust be able to lift 25lbs frequently and up to 75lbs occasionallyFunction as technical resource to management and other departments as needed.Participate in an on-call rotation and assist others who are on call.
